심플한 오디오 재생 프로그램 ' Billy ' v1.03

언제부턴가, 컴퓨터 한구석에 눌러 앉아버린 Billy라는 프로그램.
지원 포맷이 MP3, WAV, OGG 뿐이라 심히 안타깝지만..
(1.04 beta 버전은 M3U, PLS 까지 지원되지만, 1.03으로 업그레이드(?) 하라는 문구가 뜬다)
대부분의 음악을 MP3로 듣는 내입장에선 그리 신경쓸 문제도 아니다.
Billy는프리웨어로 제공되며 어떤 광고도 뜨지 않는다.
일일이 확인한바 없지만, 95/98/NT/Me/2000/XP/2003 까지
지원한다고 홈페이지에 나와있었다.
또 Un4seen Bass 의 사운드 모듈을 사용했다고 나와있던것 같다.
(이 부분은 잘 모르겠다. 전문가도 아니니.. 아시는분이 대신 설명을)
주목할만한건 윈앰프와의 비교였는데...

Compare performance
Billy intentionally doesn't support MP3 id-tags and doesn't show the playing time from each song. Though this may seem a big disadvantage, you could ask yourself how often you really need those two things. Especially when looking at the speed you win.

CPU
Billy uses Bass (Un4seen) as its decoding engine.
This engine has awesome quality and uses 28% less CPU than winamp's decoding engine. Measured with Intel VTune.

23.6 GB of 3924 MP3 files in 364 (sub)folders

Billy의 압승으로 끝난 결과인데, 뭐.. 당연하지 않을라나..?
스킨이나 이퀼라이져, MP3 id-tag등 부가기능 없는 플레이어가 빠르지도 않으면 어디다 써먹으라고 :)
Billy의 사용이유는 단 하나! 스피드&심플.

P.S (옵션에서 글자가 좀 짤리는거 빼곤 1.04 beta가 기능면에서 1.03보다 앞서는 것 같습니다.
       그런데 why? 1.03으로 다운그레이드?)
